New College Television Channel Spotlights College’s Diversity and Talent Range with Upbeat Programming

As one of the nation’s largest institutions of higher education, Miami Dade College recently debuted its newest component to the educational landscape: MDC TV, the college’s own television channel that is expected to reach more than half a million households in Miami-Dade County via the cable network. The MDC TV channel is programmed by the college’s renowned School of Entertainment & Design Technology.

MDC Kendall Campus Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda Ends Academic Season with Multiple Victories at Competition Finals

In typical top student fashion, the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda culminated its year-long winning streak with nearly a dozen high-ranking wins during the business organization’s 2008 Leadership Conference in Atlanta last month. Miami Dade College students from the Kendall Campus competed with 2,000 other college and university students from across the U.S.

National Science Foundation Offers Financial Assistance to Students with Economic Challenges Pursuing Degrees in the Sciences

The National Science Foundation, a prominent science organization, has formed an alliance with Miami Dade College (MDC) to offer several thousand dollars in scholarships to deserving students who are pursuing degrees in the biological sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, the geosciences, and engineering.

MDC’s Wolfson Campus Receives the “Friend of ASPIRA” Award

Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus located in the heart of downtown Miami and considered for four decades as an educational and cultural hub in that part of the city, recently received the “Friend of ASPIRA” Award, which was accepted by its president, Dr. Rolando Montoya.
