MDC President receives 2007 Design Award from the Miami chapter of the American Institute of Architects for Community Leadership
Miami, Thursday, December 06, 2007 - Miami Dade College President, Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón, recently received the 2007 Design Award from the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for community leadership.
This prestigious award is presented to a public official who has made a significant contribution to the awareness of architectural and urban design issues, and who has participated in the public side of the design process in such a way as to make a positive contribution to the constructed environment.
Dr. Padrón has received numerous awards and distinctions during his four decade career including the highest honors from several nations, four U.S. Presidential appointments and numerous recognitions from his peers in higher education. Most recently, he received the 2007 Monsignor Bryan O. Walsh Humanitarian Award from the Mercy Foundation.
