Education Expo

Miami, Thursday, July 17, 2008 - At Miami Dade College (MDC), our belief is that “opportunity changes everything.” This month, the college’s North Campus and the Town of Miami Lakes, in partnership with Publix Super Markets, will help spread the word with an education fair that is free and open to the public. The event will kick-off on Saturday, July 26, at 10 a.m. at Publix Super Market on 15000 Miami Lakes Dr. East.

The fair will feature information on admissions and programs for those interested in seeking an associate or bachelor’s degree, a career certificate in order to quickly enter the job market, or to upgrade skills for a better job. The college also offers a vast array of recreational programs for children, as well as non-credit occupational and cultural programs for adults and teens.

“Our aim is to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that everyone in our community becomes cognizant of the quality academic and career programs Miami Dade College offers, and how a degree from MDC renders endless opportunities for career and personal growth,” said North Campus President, Dr. José A. Vicente.

The Honorable Mayor Wayne Slaton is encouraging Town residents to take advantage of this informative community event.

“The Town of Miami Lakes embraces this worthy partnership with MDC,” Mayor Slaton said. “My call is for our Town residents and other families to take full advantage of this opportunity by turning out in large numbers”.
