Chinese Fulbright Scholar to Teach at MDC Kendall Campus

Miami, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 - Professor Huang Lei, associate dean of the MBA Education Center of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China, as well as associate professor and researcher in the field of business economics, will serve asScholar in Residence at Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Kendall Campus during the 2008 – 09 academic year. Professor Huang will teach courses in international business and international financial management. In addition, he will serve as a cultural ambassador during his two-semester tenure at the college.
“My visit to MDC will afford the students and faculty of MDC unique opportunities to explore not only the Chinese economy but also its society, culture, values, and language,” said Huang. “My teachings will focus on the practices of southern China, helping to open doors for students exchange programs between Chinese and American institutes.”
Professor Huang holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Huazhong Normal University and a master’s in international economics from Guangxi University. He is also a guest professor at Southern-Cross University in Australia, where he teaches managerial economics. In addition to spending four years teaching in Pakistan and Nepal, Professor Huang has published more than 30 academic papers.
