Miami International Film Festival Launches Film Industry Exchange Program in Mexico City

“MIFF Abroad: Inside Mexico” brings together film industry advisors, marketing executives, filmmakers, critics, and other film professionals to share knowledge, build contacts, and increase exposure to media and film industry professionals. The five-day event will be held in Mexico City, Mexico from Aug. 13 to 17.

North Campus to Unveil Rose Alterman's The Philosopher

The family of esteemed sculptor, Rose Alterman, has donated one of her most magnificent pieces, The Philosopher, to Miami Dade College’s (MDC) North Campus. It will be unveiled on Monday, August 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the North Campus Arts Complex, Building 5000.

InterAmerican Art Institute at MDC Extends its Cultural Programs to Little Havana Community

A desire to unite all artists, professional and novice alike, has spawned the effort of Miami Dade College (MDC) to open the InterAmerican Art Institute, a community enrichment center located in the heart of Little Havana. Offering exhibits, lectures and classes to art enthusiasts of all ages, the Institute, organized by the College’s School of Community Education at the InterAmerican Campus, will officially open to the general public beginning in fall 2008.

Miami International Film Festival, Presented by Miami Dade College, Announces Call for Entries

The Miami International Film Festival (MIFF), presented by Miami Dade College (MDC), announced today its call for Entries for the 2009 Miami Film Festival. The 26th annual Festival, to be held March 6 -15, 2009, is now accepting submissions for films. The early submission deadline is September 15 and the final submission deadline is October 15, 2008.

MDC Kendall Campus Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda Ends Academic Season with Multiple Victories at Competition Finals

In typical top student fashion, the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus chapter of Phi Beta Lambda culminated its year-long winning streak with nearly a dozen high-ranking wins during the business organization’s 2008 Leadership Conference in Atlanta last month.
