NHA Certification exams are NCCA accredited, ensuring the highest quality standards. NHA offers multiple pathways to eligibility to sit for and obtain a certification. NHA also provides client, schools and businesses a dedicated Certification Specialist to help guide the certification process from beginning to end.

For tests proctored by Miami Dade College for external vendors, under certain circumstances, arrangements for auxiliary aids and modifications may be available to students. For these tests, auxiliary aids and modifications are subject solely to the testing vendors availability, policies and approval.

Instructions for Auxiliary Aids and Modifications:

  1. Candidate sends documentation to test vendor.
  2. Test vendor evaluates the candidate's documentation.
  3. Test vendor determines the candidate's test accommodations.
  4. Test vendor informs candidate of accommodations and schedules test.

Test vendor informs Testing Center of candidate's accommodations and sends test materials for test day.

If you wish to retake an examination, you must go to the NHA website and log in as a returning candidate to schedule the examination and submit the assigned re-take code. If you who do not pass the certification exam on the first attempt, you will be allowed to retake the exam after a 30-day waiting period. You are allowed three (3) attempts to successfully pass the exam, with a waiting period of a minimum of thirty (30) days between each examination attempt. For each repeated failure after the third attempt, you are required to wait one (1) year before attempting to take the exam again. For each retake attempt, you must re-register and pay the full examination price.

Important Testing Information

  • NHA exams are offered at select campuses. Scheduling is managed with the program coordinator. Contact Continuing Education for more information or to schedule an exam.
  • Non-MDC students must contact the testing location of their choice to confirm test availability. A proctoring fee is charged for Non-MDC students.
  • On a typical test day, examinees will need to arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the exam.
