Program Overview

The Associate in Science (AS) in Aerospace Technician program prepares you for technical careers supporting one of Florida's fastest-growing industries. Through hands-on training in aerospace systems, structural fabrication, composite materials, and maintenance procedures, you'll develop the skills to assemble, inspect, test, and repair aircraft, spacecraft, and related systems. As the first AS program of its kind in South Florida focused on spacecraft and aerospace system maintenance, the curriculum combines practical experience with industry-aligned instruction to prepare graduates for opportunities in commercial aerospace, government agencies, and defense organizations.

Program Details

The A.S. degree is designed for students who are looking for immediate entry into a career upon graduation. Most discipline courses directly relate to the identified career area. The remaining courses are comprised of general education courses.

Beyond the classroom, you'll gain hands-on experience in dedicated aerospace laboratories built specifically for this program, where you'll apply industry-standard techniques using professional tools and equipment. Through practical training in aircraft and spacecraft systems, structural fabrication, testing, and maintenance, you'll develop the technical skills employers seek. A culminating capstone experience allows you to apply your knowledge to real-world aircraft or aerospace projects while preparing for industry-recognized certifications and entry-level careers.
