Admission Requirements

• Associate in Arts (AA) degree, including all General Education requirements
• Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, as required by Florida State Statute 1004.04
• Completion of the following education prerequisite courses with a grade of “C” or better:
  • EDF1005 Introduction to the Teaching Profession
  • EDF2144 Maximizing Student Potential in the School Context
  • EME2040 Introduction to Educational Technology
  • EEC1000 Introduction to Early Childhood Education

Students may complete any outstanding prerequisite courses during their first two semesters in the program and/or earn credit through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)

PLA allows students to earn academic credit by demonstrating competencies gained through prior learning and experience.

PLA is currently available for EDF1005, EME2071, EDF2144, EEX2000, EME2040, and EEC1000.
