Step 1

Meet the following requirements at the time of enrollment (first day of class) into the program:

1. High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
2. Valid State of Florida EMT license
3. Human Anatomy & Physiology
1. BSC 2085: Human Anatomy & Physiology I
2. BSC 2085L: Human Anatomy & Physiology I Laboratory
4. Valid Basic Life Support Provider (CPR) from American Heart Association
5. College level English, Reading, Algebra with at least a 2.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0 GPA

Step 2

1. Apply to MDC Admissions if you have never taken classes at MDC or have not taken classes in more than one academic year.
2. Apply for Financial Aid
3. Send Transcripts from high school and previously attended college(s) or universities.

Sending Transcripts to MDC

Applicants for admission must request final, official academic transcripts from all secondary (high school) and postsecondary (college/university)previously attended. Domestic (U.S.) high school and/or college/university transcripts must be sent to Miami Dade College either electronically (by a third party) or by mail directly from institution(s) to institution.

Your admission to the college remains incomplete until all required official transcripts are submitted.

Step 3

An EMT Basic knowledge exam will be utilized to rank students for entry into the program in addition to having completed all requirements on Complio.

1. Fill out Paramedic Entrance Test Appointment Request and await contact from the Testing department for appointment confirmation or visit the medical campus testing department.
2. Emergency: Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured from Jones & Bartlett Learning will be used as the reference text for test questions and answers.
3. Create an account with Complio
4. Purchase correct package (link to packet) and complete all requirements.
5. Invitation to attend a mandatory paramedic orientation will be sent to student's email.
6. Selection into the program will be made based on the following criteria in order of priority:
1. Completion of all requirements listed above (Steps 1-4)
2. Highest scores on entry test
3. Paramedic orientation attendance
4. Completion of all requirements in Complio

Please note that this program is a limited access program. Meeting program requirements does not guarantee students will progress to the discipline courses. Please note that there is no waiting list.

Step 4

Thank you for your interest in MDC Medical Campus. Medical Campus programs are limited access and students must complete milestones to determine eligibility to move forward in their discipline classes. In order to have your records reviewed during the selection process, you must request a Milestone Review prior to the program’s Target Review Dates.

Once you have completed your milestone review and you have met all the requirements, you will receive an invitation to the paramedic orientation by email approximately one week after the application deadline date listed below.

Students interested in Vocational Credit Certificate programs and the First Responder, EMT, Paramedic, or EMS programs DO NOT need to submit a Milestone Review Fee.
